We are fast aproaching our move to Colorado and I am seriously going crazy. I don't reccomend trying to plan a move accross state lines while coordinating the finalization of a home remodel. The inside of the house is looking amazing as the outside of the house is looking more and more white trashy. We have one of those storage pods in our driveway, our furniture on the front lawn, piles and piles of trash on the side of the house, lumber and drywall and insulation under the carport, bikes in the back yard, our washer and dryer in the back yard, tools everywhere, did I mention the copious amounts of trash everywhere. It's insane around here. The litter boxes a mere 2 feet from the bed because the cats are spending nearly all their time in the bedroom so they don't get out. I also don't reccomend having litter boxes right by your bed. Nothing says, "let's have sex" like a cat pooping right bythe bed. Ahhhh, the memories we're making.
OH OH, and get this. The other day as the guys were laying our hard wood floor one of our cats got loose from the bedroom. The problem with that is that our floors are the glue down kind (glue on concrete.) The glue is ultra, mega, super duper sticky. It's like brown goopy thick glue. So, our cat arthur gets out, runs through the glue accross the freshly laid floor leaving brown cat prints as he goes. It was funny for about a second as I watched him do that "I have sticky stuff on my paws kind of run." Then I screamed a few choice words and Scott and I spent the next 3 hours cleaning him. The glue was all over his paws and in the fur between his toes. It's highly toxic, so that added another level of urgency. We called the vet and she suggested dawn soap, which we already did with limited success. We washed his paws about 15 times and he was meowing like a mad man. Then I had to clip each individual hair out from inbetween his paws as scott was wrestling him to stay still. It was horrible, but it turned out fine and Artie is still alive, so that's all that maters.
I probably won't blog for at least a week, but as soon as we arrive I'll be sure to post some pictures of our fancy tempory housing and pretty pretty colorado. God speed to Colorado. Watch out here come the DeJong's.

Wow! I didn't know that it was going to be that soon. I hope that everything goes well with your move, good luck in Colorado. I'll be anxiously awaiting pictures!
It's a bummer that it's all happening so fast. Too bad you can't spend the last four days just laying in your hammock and reminiscing, it's going to be spent trying to get everything pulled together. Call me if you ever get a moment. Love my Katja!
