Christmas Questions

Egg nog or hot chocolate?
I like egg nog better around the holidays because that's the only time it's acceptable to drink 5000 calories worth of liquid.

Does Santa wrap presents or set them under the tree?
well "santa" wraps presents, because who just puts them under the tree?

Colored lights on tree or white?
Well, I don't have a tree this year, or last, or the year before that. But once we did have a tree (scott and me) and I think I put colored lights on it. Once we're annual tree people though, I'd like to switch every year. I think white lights on trees look classier. Better for me and the Mr. to take pictures in front of with our cigars and martinis.

When do you put your decorations up?
First week in December. This year though, none at all. Not even stockings. Christmas decorating looses some of it's magic when you have to schlep down to your rented U-Haul space to dig out the bin of Christmas decorations.

What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
Stuffing. Not dressing, stuffing.

Favorite holiday memory as a child:
Hearing my mom sing to Christmas music while decorating. She still does it.

Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Sometimes, but I don't like doing that if I only have like 2 gifts. I did as a kid though

How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
lights and ornaments. No theme.

Snow! Love it or dread it?
Love to look at it and watch it come down and drive in it at like 2am when no one is on the road. Other than that, could live without it.

Can you ice skate?
Sort of. We're going soon

Do you remember your favorite gift?
Yep- I wanted a red bean bag chair when I was like 13 or 14 and I got it.

What's the most important thing about the holidays for you?
Seeing family and friends

What is your favorite holiday dessert?
I like the no bake green wreaths my mom used to make. They're very kid-ish. It's corn flakes with marshmellows, like rice crispy treats. Green food coloring with 3 red hots in the middle. I like gingersnaps too.

What is your favorite tradition?
from me and Scott, every year for Christmas we write eachother a love letter. That is hands down my favorite gift. From my family, it's baking with my mom and getting Christmas socks. It's funny, because coming from AZ, I owned white socks for working out and then only Christmas socks over the years. Still, I have yet to break down and buy real socks, because I'll wear my red snowflake socks year round.

Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
I should say giving, but I really like to get gifts. If I had my way, I'd have 50 gifts to open on Christmas... What, for me AGAIN? Oh, you shouldn't have. Yes you should have. I do like giving gifts too though. I love shopping for other people, when we have money.

Candy canes! Yuck or yum?
Eh, I was over these when i was like 15

Ever recycled a Christmas present?
I don't think so but I'm all for it.

This was fun to read! I like this Christmas tag because it covers the basics, yet everyone has a slight twist on how they incorporate these things into their celebrations. :)

I liked your sidebar of your 101 things to do in 1001 days... #65) Scrape the ice off of Scott's jeep one time. ONE time. haha!

Katy, it was great getting to know you a little over the holidays! Just catching up with your blog. Love that you and Scott exchange love letters for Christmas. I might have to steal that idea. Make my husband actually think about why he appreciates me!
