End of the year re-cap

This year has been a wild year and I wanted to document some of the highs, lows and just some random things I've noticed. So, here it goes

I...

Moved to Denver
Drove in snow for the first time
physically lived in 3 different places
cleaned up Arthur's cat vomit about 2,542 times
Got a new job
Organized the Denver Young Couples Group and met some good friends
Traveled to AZ four times
Got 3 fillings
Got a physical (all good news)
Went totally and completely broke
Drained our 401k, savings and retirement on finishing our house mess
Felt like inflicting physical pain on certain contractors
Finished the remodel on the house in AZ
Sold the house in AZ
Rode my bike a lot
Took a lot of great pictures
Had like, 7 nervous breakdowns
Had one very red irritated eye
2 urinary tract infections
2 trips to urgent care
Went fishing in Nederland
Went on a 4-wheel jeep trip
Lost 2 grandmothers
Went to 2 funerals
Got really sunburned up in the mountains
Fell two times due to ice
Had my wet hair freeze outside (note to self, don't leave the house with wet hair when it's 5 degrees outside)
Scraped the ice off my car about 40 times
Experienced the magic of the first snow of the season
Found a few great little bars/restaurants/bakeries
walked a lot around town
Noticed there are a LOT of nose pickers in CO
Noticed there are a lot of smokers here too
Gave up meat in Jan 08, for the most part
learned I am lactose intolerant
Turned 28
Saw the Nutcracker
Locked up my breaks on the freeway (on ice)
Hiked Squaw Peak
Cried a lot over missing friends and family
Drank a lot less caffeine and noticed the difference
Purchased sweet cowgirl boots
Spent thanksgiving in Wyoming
Took a trip to Santa Cruz, CA
Joined a new yoga studio
Made a lot of lists

This year has been the cap to a few hard years for me/us financially and emotionally, but for the first time I'm pretty sure we're on the other side. I'm looking forward to a great 2009. I know it won't be perfect and it will be hard at times, but I am determined to take control of the things I can and just let the other crap go. Ha-that sounds like the AA prayer. I promise, I have issues, but alcoholism is thankfully not one of them.

Next on the bloglist: Lots of pictures and stuff from Christmas in the homeland! Good times, refreshing and rejuvenating!

I love it, but how do you remember all the little details! Crazy. I have no idea how many times I have been to urgent care. For myself, or my kids!

I'm with Jilly. i could never keep track of the visits to Urgent Care. After March, I lose count.

I love your attitude Katy. And maybe you can offer some tips on the caffeine thing. Right now I drink at least 20 oz of Cherry Coke a day, and it's on my list of things to cut out of my life this year.

OK, how is it that people don't know how many times a year they've been to urgent care? I've only been a hand full of times in the past 5-7 years, so it's a pretty big deal when I go. I guess when you have kids though, you probably just lose count

very true. urgent care visits? no idea, too many to even count. Now, emergency room visits...Connor has already been 4, maybe 5 times in his 20 months...ugh. boys.

I just realized I didn't get a pic of the two of us together! I had my camera, too. Blast!
