Brag Blog

Since I am without child, despite what that kitty in a box post suggested, I'm going to brag about me for a minute.

Last week I worked out Monday-Friday! Then I took a 12 mile bike ride this past Sunday with the man, THEN yesterday at 4:30 I took an hour long spin class in which for a minute I thought, I actually may have an anxiety attack because I could not get enough air, then after the spin class Scott and I did our resistance training for another 45 minutes. Yesterday during our workout I burned 1007 calories.

I don't think I've EVER worked out Monday-Friday, other back in my High School days of Swim Team and Soccer. So to have gone to the gym 5 days, then a bike ride, then a spin class with weights afterwards. I seriously feel like super woman right now.

When I started weight training with Scott I couldn't even do one push up on the stability ball. (That's hands on the ball, feet on the ground.) Now I can do 2 sets of 20. You should see me go. Seriously, I'm pretty much a machine. It's weird because I look at myself and I don't look like I could knock out a 1 hr spinning class with 45 minutes of weights afterwards, but somehow I do and it feels great. It's a good feeling to know that even though my physical appearance leaves a little to be desired by me, that I can kick ass at stability ball push-ups, core workouts, lap swimming and spinning class.

I am woman, hear me roar (then fall on the ground in a sweaty heap)

That is seriously awesome. My own endurance level leaves quite a few things lacking nowadays...

GOOD JOB!! :) Yeah, I miss the days of High School swim team. No worry about getting your workout in. Since med school started, I have not been in the kind of shape that I would like to be, nor do I forsee time when I may be able to work on that, but I did vow to myself to schedule in the time during residency to work out at least 2x a week. We'll see how that goes ;)
