I'm Baaaaaaack!

This weekend was a whirlwind!

Moving-Unpacking-Snow-Unpacking-Home Depot-Old Apartment-Cats-Home Depot-Unpacking

You know every time you move you think, we don't have that much stuff, then you start to move and you find out you DO have a lot of stuff.

Well, NOT US! Not THIS time!

We've gone from a 2600 sqft home
to a 1500 sqft home
remodeled that to an 1800 sqft home
to an 850 sqft apartment
back now to 1750 condo.

When you downsize your life to 850 sqft. It leaves little room for anything other than essentials. This is good. I like life this way. Sure, we have toys like bikes and snowboards and beer making stuff, but we don't have any crap.

As you could see from Thursday's pictures, our old apartment looked like it exploded. Our new place has space for miles. The only thing in the spare bedroom is the bed. The only thing in the den is my desk and easel! It's a beautiful thing!

All the remaining boxes are in the basement-all 5 of them! We were like machines this weekend. I think moving should be as quick and painless as possible. Your days suck for like a week, but then you're done. I don't prolonging the inevitable.

I'll post pictures soon!

Pros of living in our new place
-central heat and air
-2 car attached garage
-very very very quiet, despite being in Capitol Hill
-Feeling like for the first time in 4 years, we're finally living in a place where I don't have to think about it. Meaning, I don't have to think. Ugh, this place is so small, or this place is filled with construction workers and dust. It does my soul well to be in a home where there's peace and space to move around.

Congrats on not having any crap. That sounds like a dream, I dread the next time we move, I feel like we've got so much stuff, it is ridiculous.

Glad the move went well! Can't wait to see pics. I won't know what to do when I drive past the "Flats" and don't see your cars. I always knew when you were home! Creeped out yet?

BTW, Nate and I are throwing an "I'm-a-Dr.-bitch (Sara), I-just-took-the-P.E.-yo (Nate)" party on April 25. You guys are invited. More info coming soon!
