Monday Spotlight-A Day Late

Kind
Empathetic
Listens to what you have to say, really listens
Loves to travel
Youth/Adolescent Therapist

Kelly moved to Denver in 2008 via the world. She's traveled all over, so I can't say exactly where she's "from." I do know that she lived in Mali for a while. She met her husband Mike in Mali. They were both serving in the Peace Corps in West Africa. Seriously people, the freekin' Peace Corps! When I used Kind as a word to describe Kelly, I really meant it.

Just this past Sunday we were talking about kindness and genuine people. You know when you meet people who are "surface kind?" The kind folk who smile and make small talk, but then talk about you behind you back and judge you and stuff like that. Well, Kelly (and her husband Mike) are the opposite of that. They're genuine, they're authentic, and I believe that's what draws people to them.

Ladies & Gentleman, readers from across the globe, I present to you Kelly

Q&A

Favorite Color?
Blue

What are you most proud of ?
Good question….I feel like I should mention something spectacular that I’ve done in the past (or just make something up…), but truthfully, I’m most proud of all the wonderful people in my life. I am very lucky to be surrounded by an amazing group of kind, supportive, and loving family and friends.

Republican or Democrat?
die-hard Democrat. I even named my cockatiel Michael Dukakis when I was in 5th grade.
(this answer made me actually laugh out loud, I love this Kelly)

What's on your pizza?
Well, first things first, I have to a start with the kind of pizza: Gino’s East deep dish pizza from Chicago (they have a crust that is truly to die for!). Add extra cheese, spinach, and garlic and you have a culinary masterpiece in your hands. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

If you could do anything for a living, what would you do?
A travel writer for Lonely Planet. I’d get to travel the world on their dime.

What do you love most about your husband?
So many things…. But if I had to pick just one it would be his kindness.

Life would be easier if...
People smiled at other people more often….
