Monday Spotlight

Jubiliant Laugh
Eats a vegetarian diet
New to Denver

Jen is a new friend in Denver. Her husband’s name is Kendall and I think that’s a cool name. Jen has really long beautiful hair and a big smile. It’s the kind of smile that makes you feel like “hey, I think I like this girl.” She kind of reminds me of my cousin Megan. She’s warm and open and has a great laugh.

Jen and her husband Kendall have the cutest little girl named Lyla. I photographed Lyla last week for her 1 year old photos. We threw Lyla up in the air, blew bubbles at her and took some bare butt photos, because well, you can’t have one yr photos with out a little juicy butt.

Jen has a pretty amazing story. Their little Lyla was brought into this world via a lovely surrogate in India. In fact you can read all about her story HERE. Or just google wombs for rent Oprah, that’s what I did. I think it’s courageous what her and Kendal did. It’s inspiring on many levels beyond parenthood. They wanted something, a child and they made it happen. They created the life they wanted and I think that’s just great!

Q&A

Favorite Color?
Orange
What are you most proud of?
Surviving many, many years of infertility without losing ~ faith in miracles, love for myself and my husband, and the ability to still find happiness in a life that is not always "fair."

Republican or Democrat?
Absolutely neither! I detest politics, distrust all politicians, and feel that the system will always be inherently flawed and corrupt. So I choose to abstain. But I love all my Republican and Democratic friends! :o)

What's on your pizza?
My favorite pizza in the world is from Woodstock Pizza in Isla Vista, Santa Barbara - pesto sauce with artichoke hearts and extra cheese. Yum!!!!!

If you could do anything for a living, what would you do?
I would be a writer.

What do you love most about your husband?
I knew he was a keeper when I met him in the midst of my bad-boys-with-lots-of-tattoos phase of dating, and he talked about how great his mom was, said cute old-fashioned words like "gals," and told me that he grew up in a small mountain town and not in "The O.C." like I had. :o) In short, he's innocent (in a good way) and kind hearted.

Life would be easier if...
I didn't have to go to India and spend $20k every time I wanted another child. (I want 3 or 4!)

I totally saw this episode of Oprah! Which is saying something, since I rarely watch that show. Wow. I am happy for her and her husband.
