Monday Spotlight: Renee

Renee summed up in one word. Funny! This girl cracks me up serious. People seem to say things like "you have a way with words." Often times that statement is true, but it doesn't come close to describing Renee's art for the English language. Wanna see... Click HERE to view her blog.

Renee loves music, especially the Beatles. She pretty much IS a Beatle. She even named her two kids Lennon and Harrison. That's love people.

Renee is a genuine person. She's honest even when she thinks it's not pretty. She talks frankly about going blind and being somewhat agoraphobic. She pokes fun at it, but I think her candid nature is endearing and bold and beautiful. She probably wouldn't describe herself as bold or beautiful, but I would. Hey... the bold and the beautiful. I swear I didn't mean to do that :)

Ladies and Gentlemen, readers from across the world, I present you one cool Chuck Taylor wearin chick. RENEE

Q&A

Favorite Color?

My mom almost had a conniption when I told her I wanted my wedding colors to be red, yellow, and blue, but those have always been my favorites. I love the primary colors in all their combinations. I love the incredible range of physical and emotional reactions they have the ability to exhume from an individual based on that person's state of mind and experience. This might be a cop-out answer. I can't tell.

What are you most proud of?

Being right all the time. Jokes, jokes. I'm most proud of keeping it together. It doesn't matter that I haven't always done that. It matters that I was able to put myself back, and I'm whole today.

Republican or Democrat?

I was a member of the Young Republicans, but never aligned myself with the "religious right" in case that matters. I don't even think those people are real republicans. I believe in a limited government, but I recognize that that way isn't always best for the country in every time. When it comes down to it, I really hate sides. Rivalry is dumb. Sometimes the Jackrabbits don't Rule, and some of my best friends were Mountain View Toros. What were we talking about again?

What's on your Pizza?

Jalapenos and/or banana peppers. If not everyone is up for it, I settle for green peppers and mushrooms. Or cheese. Or broccoli. Or anything that isn't a mean, unless that meat is pepperoni, which is probably the grossest kind of meat, but I don't think about it.

If you could do anything for a living, what would you do?

Be the author of books relating to my experiences as the best friend of my favorite celebrity humorists. (The first title would be "I drive A Sedaris: How We Prevented Global Warming, One Doily At A Time" Book two would be titled "Fey and Me" and Lifetime would buy the rights). You said 'anything'.

What do you love most about your husband?

I know that when people say, "His honesty" is usually ends up that he's a spy of a fugitive or an evil villain in a superhero movie, or maybe I watch too much TV, but either way, I won't give that answer, even though that's part of it. Eric is a genuine and good person. He cares deeply about his family, and he's the best dad I've ever seen in action. He's handsome, and he's talented, and smart. But the thing I love most is that he makes me laugh. I probably should have just said, "he makes me laugh" but I'm pretty sure I was Charles Dickens in a past life.

Life would be easier if...

I didn't want to badly for everyone to like me for who I am. I'm unwilling (too stubborn) to change, but I'm endlessly frustrated that who I am isn't enough for some people. Also, a robot housemaid who prefers to be paid in jokes or air.

Two perfect spotlights in a row!

Bold & Beautiful? Honestly, two words that have never been said about me, and I seriously might cry. That means a lot coming from you Katy.

Way more than if you had said I was Young & Restless or your Guiding Light, and way way more than if you somehow brought Sunset Beach into this.

I love this girl so much! As the world turns, it's apparent we only have one life to live, and out of all my children, Renee is the most bold and beautiful!
