I was blog hopping this morning and found a this blog. She posted about an old Marie Claire article about deal sealers instead of relationship deal breakers. It got me thinking about the moments when I knew I was hooked. Here are some of my fondest memories of the early days, and how I knew he was it.
Mini Road Trip & The Soundtrack to 2002
One weekend in our early courtship, we decided to take a day trip up to the Natural Bridge just past payson. We hiked through the whole thing, had a picnic, talked, took pictures. It was a great date, one of the best. I usually end up with a soundtrack to my life in certain times. For instance, I was really into Coldplay back then. We listened to Yellow a couple times and now I literally can not hear that CD without at least one of the songs bringing me to happy tears. On the way home Scott put in a Ben Folds CD. I thought he was a dork. No, really. I couldn't get into it. I pretended to like it while I silently thought, this is sooooooo 1999 "Brick." I thought he was cute though for being REALLY into Ben Folds. He talked to me for a good while about why they were so awesome. He was really passionate about music and still is. After that I decided to buy a couple Ben Folds CD's and really sit with them and figure out why he liked him so much. He told me his favorite songs and I listened to those songs over and over like they were my oxygen. Finally, I got it. Like, really got it. Our first dance was to a Ben Folds song. Our song, The Luckiest. Listen to it here.
