BIG news... NO, not a baby, although I feel like it's that caliber of announcement. We're MOVING TO Colorado. Scott was officially offered an amazing position. It's with his same company, Lockheed Martin. Scott is seriously a smarty pants. Or as people say "he knows a lot about a lot." He totally deserves this postion, the prestige and the moolah. I'm very proud of him.

You may be wondering what we're going to do with our house. After 2 solid years of renovation, we'll be able to enjoy about 4 hrs of it. Sad, YES... more like gut wrenching. All our hard work, money and patience feels like it's all going to waste. I know we'll find a great house in CO, but nothing like this. We made this into pretty much our dream home. Our master bathroom... well there are no words for that. I'm trying to stay positive about the house, but it's really hard. We are going to rent out the house though, mostly because we don't want to lose money on it and also because I'm not ready to let go of this baby, even if it means that someone else will enjoy the fruits of our labors. Who ever gets to live here must seriously understand what the house means to us. I'm going to be calling the house everyday asking how it's doing ha ha. I'm going to screen the renters like crazy. No parties, no drinking, no kids or dogs.. j/k I have to let go a little.
Ultimately though, I'm really excited. It's like a fresh start in a new state. So colorado, get ready, the DeJong's are comin'.

Katy. OH WOW. I didn't realize your guy worked for Lockhead. We live right down the street from their bay area offices. Holy cow. And a BUNCH of our friends have transferred to Colorado over the past 18 months!! You could meet them. Small world! If he meets a Gus at work, ping me. (they live in Highlands Ranch)
PS. They're from AZ as well!!
i know we already talked about this at great length yesterday afternoon, but I just want to tell you again how excited i am for you two crazy kids. CO is beautiful, and the fact that it's happening so quick makes it even more exciting!! Just remember that you have to be sure to be on a flight back in time for Connor's first birthday party--April 19th:)
Wah! Wah! Wah! I don't want my bestie to leave me! I'm really excited for you and scott. I loved living in CO, it just wasn't the right time for me in my life. Enough about that, this is your blog! I can't wait, can't wait to visit, can't wait to stay with you and never leave. :) I told eric that we were going to move with you guys and he said no. he can't take a snowy winter, even if i paid him. i talked to my aunt lori today, and she said he'll probably be going to the lockheed in littleton. exciting! yeah amy, highland ranch is next to littleton.
he said it's the denver data center
Congrats on the new opportunity. It's pretty scary moving away from the AZ, but you get used to it.
