I'm a Sick Kitty

It's official, I've got a cold. Which is wierd because I never get sick around the holidays. It's always in like March or something. So anyways, I've got the congestion and the body aches. Whenever Scott or I feel like we're coming down with something he said "do you want to check the sick-o-meter?" AKA the thermometer?

One time we were both sick and our temps were like 97. something and we were both convinced that the sickometer was broken, so we went out and bought a new one:) Yeah we're crazy like that.

Today I consulted the sickometer and am pleased to announce that my temp is 99.4! Are we the only ones who feel good about having that number? It's like you feel like crap and you want justification!! If you feel like crap and it says 97.2 you're like, NO it's wrong, really I'm sick. So I call Scott and say, It's official I'm sick and he says what did the sickometer say. I told him 99.4 and he says... "ahhhhhhh barely!" and then just laughs.

The thing is, I almost lied and sayd 99.9 or something more dramatic sounding. This is wierd huh? I KNOW, don't judge me people, I'm SICK!

That is so funny! Not that you're sick, but the whole have to justify it with your temp thing. I do the same thing.I feel like if I feel like crap and I have a temp then it's justified if I stay in my pajamas all day and let my kids run wild. If I don't have a temp I make myself operate as normal. But it all comes down to , if you feel crummy then you feel crummy and it doesn't matter what the thermometer says. (Now I just need to take my own advice).

too funny! What you ought to do is take your temperature at the same time every day for a week [when you're healthy] and then you'll know what your "real" temperature is so you can compare your sick temp to that instead of the 98.6 which is really a population average...does this make sense? Some people's normal temps are 97.2 and some people's are 99. Just depends on the individual!

yup. my normal is 97.3 so maybe yours is too and you're really uber sick:( if that was the case, your crappy feeling would really be justified!!
