2) WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST DATE? Our first date was at Sushi on Shea. It was not good. He picked me up at my apartment in chandler and brought flowers. So cute, but I thought they were fake so I just put them on the counter and we left. He was a "nice guy" which at the time I was totally not into. I was just ending that "treat me like crap" relationship with the bad guy, so I was totally not in the space to realize what a great man he was. Oh, plus his right hand had longer fingernails!!!! I was freaked out and didn't ask, but later found out that if was because he played guitar and didn't use a pick. So, yeah, not good. Then a few months later I had a date cancel so I just randomly called him up and we went out again. I saw him this time and was smitten! We have pretty much been joined at the hip ever since. So we sort of have 2 first dates, the good one and the bad one. He told me that when we first met he was totally into me, thought I was cute, but that I seemed totally not into him, so the second date he almost didn't agree to. Good thing huh?
3) WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST KISS? Our first kiss was after our 2nd first date. I put the charm on and he pretty much couldn't resist me. Oh, the question is WHERE.... at his house. I remember driving there and thinking "this guy lives so far away." I lived in Chandler.. Pecos/Alma School and he was N. PHX 7th st and 101. I drove up to his house and thought "holy cow this guy lives in a mansion!" lol. He didn't by the way. Just a big house... I thought he lived in an apartment.
4) HOW LONG DID YOU DATE? We dated from 2002-2004 before we got engaged
5) DID YOU HAVE A LONG OR SHORT ENGAGEMENT? Depends on who you're talking to... Our engagement was 10 months. For many of my Mormon friends, that's forever, but for everyone else that's super short.

6)WHERE DID YOU GET ENGAGED? The top of the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING! Crazy huh? We were in NYC for the 4th of July. We flew in on the 29th of June and right when we got into the city he was like "let's go to the empire state building, I have tickets and everything." I knew something was up, because I am the planner in the relationship. He just flyes by the seat of his pants. So for him to plan this was wierd. He was nervous and proposed right when we got to the top. He wrote me this poem and said it really fast and kind of quiet. Scott is a LOUD talker too, so it was cute to see him nervous. There were a ton of people and it was super windy, so I asked if he could read the poem again (I wanted my moment people.) Once he did it again he got down on one knee and then people realized what he was doing and quited down which was great. Then of course came the tears and the ring.. wowza!

9) HOW WAS THE HONEYMOON? The best! We went to Jamaica. It now feels sort of like a second home to us. We're planning to go back for our 3rd anniversary in April. The people are great and it's so laid back. Just plan to be offered POT if you walk around on the public beaches. We were at a private resort so there was none of that. Only if you went into town. That's Jamaica though. My brother-in-law says that everyone in Jamaica has 2 jobs. One, doing their trade and the other is selling weed. It's true!

this is really cute. i loved the cake story. i'm totally with you, wedding cakes really aren't my bag. it wouldn't destroy my wedding day if my cake fell apart. poor mary margaret, she was so upset over it. and i love the 2 first dates. i remember when you went on the date with him, and the first two things you said to me were, "he gave me fake flowers! and he has long fingernails on one hand!" so funny!
This was fun to read! I had a few good chuckles...especially with the flowers & long nails on one hand. My husband is from Colorado and will always call it his home. He hates AZ, but he's stuck here because of me. :o)
I loved reading all about your story. I met Ryan online too!! Come read mine!!
I learned some stuff I didn't know about you guys, that was fun! I remember the wedding cake thing, our table was looking at it and saying, is it suppose to look like that? And someone said, "I think so, I saw a cake like that at the wedding expo, they off center them to give them that cool look." Your wedding was awesome!
