Slobby Slob Slob

So, here's my confession. I'm kind of sloppy and lazy when it comes to taking care of the home. I hate laundry, cleaning, dishes, dusting is ok and so are toilets surprisingly enough-but for the most part I just hate it. I don't keep a lot of clutter, as in, I'm not a hoarder or is it whoarder, but I let mail, head phones, magazines, gym water bottles and crap like that pile up on the bar top.

Scott is by no means a clutter free neat freak, but he's leaps and bounds better than me. This, as you can imagine, is a point of contention in our relationship. I hate that it is, but that's the truth folks. Just the other day, I peeled a cucumber and left the peelings in the sink to harden and glue themselves to the side of the sink. Lovely, I know. Needless to say, my darling husband wasn't too pleased with me. It's like, I don't even realize I do half this crap. I am programed to be a slob.

So, in a REAL effort to start acting like an adult and not let the laundry pile up the walls (which by the way, is an old dear friend of mine) I'm giving myself over to a woman/website called flylady. It's mostly geared towards perfectionists who get overwhelmed when looking at clutter and crap and just shut down mentally and physically. Hmmm, that kitchen is a mess, but WOW John & Kate plus 8 is on my DVR. Guess which one wins out? The site is pretty hokey, but I'm giving myself over mind, body and slob spirit.

I know the women are supposed to be the neat freaks and picking up after their husbands etc, but I know there are a ton of women who are the slobs, no no, that's just not a nice word... hmmm, what to replace that with? OK, slobs, that's all I got. So, anyways, I know you're out there. It's ok. My name is Katy and I leave cucumber shavings in the sink to harden like glue. I also, like to leave salad in bowls overnight and cream-of-wheat. It's so awesome, don't try it.

haha! At least you think dusting is ok...I can't remember the last time I did that....and the bedding that Thomas had an accident in 3 nights ago? Still in a pile outside his room. That my friend is awesome...don't try it. :)

PS. What I'm trying to say is this: don't be too hard on yourself, we all have things we struggle with in relationships regarding housework :D

Haha. I just checked out flylady.net, and I have no idea what the purpose of that website is. ...All I'm saying is that if I walk into your apartment and I see a fly lady magnet on your fridge, I'm turning around and walking out of your apartment. haha.

It's okay, I get sloppy too. There are crumbs on my stove from this weekend. And there is a crapload of hair in my bathroom sink, and I'm staring at a kleenex on the floor next to my bed... am I going to pick it up? Not for awhile. :)

i can totally relate kate. i love jon and kate plus 8 too.

oh, and i can relate to the lazy slob issue too. our thing is dishes. i hate, hate doing dishes. they will sit in our sink forever. till you have to soak the bbq sauce off the plate twice. it's so gross, but by the time we get home, feed, bathe and get the boy to bed, all we can do is colapse on the couch and get some dvr time in. it's no excuse, but it kinda is.

cut yourself some slack:)
