I love these cookies. There's something romantic about them. Does anyone agree? They're old fashioned and remind me of my grandma and grandpa. My grandma loved black and white cookies. She also loved chewing half sticks of the "yellow package" gum and eating peppermint patties. What brand was that gum? I don't remember, but the yellow package was of the mint variety.
One time, she and my grandpa were out at a bar/restaurant in Santa Cruz, CA and made friends with a Lesbian couple. One of the Lesbian women told my grandma that she could psycho analyze my her by the contents of her purse. My grandma of course being the overly sweet trusting soul got giddy at the thought and quickly handed over her purse. The story goes that the lesbian woman said something about my grandma being practical and organized by seeing all of the half torn pieces of gum still hanging on in the pack, neatly tucked away for later consumption.
I feel her now, laughing and rubbing my hands with her uber soft velvet skin. She had the softest skin. I miss her.
I found the gum! Accept my grandma's package would never have looked all beat up like this. Plus it was not metallic packaging

I think what really makes me happy today is remembering my Grandma
Other things my Grandma used to do that make me happy
-Obsess over crossword puzzles
-Mix multiple cereals
-Talk about BM's
-Get overwhelmed at big meals
-Swoon over my high school boyfriends and my husband's voice
-Call me and Scott "Lovebirds"
-Softshoe with my grandpa on the front porch and in the living room
-Walk everywhere
-Eat half sandwiches
-Carry a hand made handkerchief
Her love could heal anything. She could heal anyone. I know it sounds cheesy, but if you knew her, you would have fallen instantly in love with her. She was a lady.
