Happy-Wednesdays

This is what makes me happy.
I think I've made up my mind on which camera I'm going to get.

The winner is.... The Olympus E-30

Let me introduce you to the soon to be newest member of the family.

For anyone who knows anything about cameras... a lot of people poo poo on the Olympus brand. Nikon and Canon are King in the DSLR industry. What I would really love to have is a Nikon D2x, but I don't have the money for that right now and it's not necessary. The E-30 is an EXCELLENT camera, seriously excellent. The lenses are all interchangeable and I already have 3 olympus lenses so that saves me $$ that I would have to spend to get all new lenses if I change brands all together... another selling point. I'm going to get another lens to add to the line-up too. It's a pro-grade lens, super fast and fancy. It sounds like a samurai blade when you take the photo. Makes me giddy! Plus, did you notice that articulating screen? Be still my heart! You can pop that out when you're taking ground images or way up high so you don't have to shoot and hope you come out with something, or get on the ground to take certain shots. It has lots of other bells and whistles that I won't waste your time with, but I'm really excited. The most important thing to me is image quality and ISO noise, both of which are super on this beauty.

I really tried hard to make this a business decision rather than an emotional one. If I made it emotional I would have ended up with a Nikon D-700 plus lenses I'd need which would have run me easily 4k. Yikes! I will probably end up with a Nikon a year or so down the road and start over from scratch with lenses and stuff, but for now, it's olympus which is more than enough.

So that my loyal readers from 'round the world, is what makes me happy this Wednesday.
